At CAJOY, we recognise the importance of environmental sustainability and are committed to minimising our impact on the environment. We believe that we all have a responsibility to make a positive contribution to the world around us and therefore we are constantly looking for ways to improve our processes and minimise our environmental footprint.

We understand sustainability to mean the principle of fairness:

• Fairness to our production partners with an appropriate fee that guarantees impeccable ethical production standards
• Fairness to our customers with high quality produced to the best of our knowledge

As part of our commitment to environmental sustainability, we already prioritise the following:

Sourcing

Responsible sourcing is essential to promoting environmental sustainability. We favour materials that are sustainable, recycled or ethically sourced. We also work closely with our suppliers to ensure that our materials meet our standards.

All CAJOY jewellery is handmade, which is why sustainability for us means above all paying attention to working conditions in production.

We produce with a small number of exclusive partner companies that comply with internationally recognised human and labour rights standards. All companies are family businesses that attach great importance to fair and healthy working conditions. They are accompanied on site by a CAJOY employee in Thailand in order to guarantee the ethical and technical standards mentioned above and to prevent any consequences of careless handling of the working conditions we enforce in the production process.

Female Empowerment

We are a company run by women and are committed to strengthening the role of women in our society. Our team unites 7 nationalities and consists of 50% mothers. In the production of our hand-knotted boho jewellery, we support a women's network with our collection that enables women to receive training and a fair additional income, which means freedom and self-confidence.

Packaging/ Recycling

At CAJOY we believe that environmentally friendly, recyclable packaging is key to reducing waste and promoting sustainability. For this reason, we use biodegradable or recyclable cardboard boxes for our packaging and would like to encourage our customers to reuse or recycle our packaging after use.

We also consider the use of green electricity, which we use exclusively at our head office and in our boutique in Seilergasse in Vienna, to be a matter of course. Our vehicle fleet is 100% electric in order to minimise CO2 emissions during transport, and we are aiming to switch to paperless working at our head office in order to reduce unnecessary paper consumption and create a more effective workflow at the same time.

Our planet's resources are finite and we all depend on them to survive. Our overarching goal is therefore to prioritise sustainability in all our business activities and thus contribute to a better and more environmentally friendly future for us and our planet.
